After a long, but good**, day I decided to work on something I can do without thinking, and sometimes even without looking.

Tonight that translated into a water bottle holder. I had some Sugar & Cream cotton yarn in the Salt & Pepper colorway, and got started on another one. I chose a Susan Bates hook, size 7 (4.50mm), opting for one in between the G and H hooks I have used previously for this project.
I’ve been using my green one a lot lately, and the pattern works up quickly, so this checked all the boxes tonight. I’ve made the magic ring, and crocheted increases until I had 36 stitches in the round and then began the pattern stitch - which is slightly different from my initial pattern. I’ll share that pattern too, once I make sure it works as I am expecting it to!

I’ve completed at least 4 rows past the base (36 stitches), so I think I’ve got the required stitching activity for today, but I’ll be working on this until the Sandman calls (which may be sooner than later).
In other news, I’ve somehow misplaced a bag containing a shawl in progress, and it’s driving me nuts! I think it may be in the back seat of my Jeep or at my parents’ home, so I’m not worried, necessarily, but I need to find it so I can finish it during this month of stitches.
I hope you’re off to a great start on your own “Knit or Crochet Every Day in May” journey!

** today I received an award for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence at the college where I teach as an adjunct. Crocheting AND an academic award? It was a very good day!
