(Thursday) I had some writing to do, so I began the day in my office, but my crocheting kept calling me. In between inspiration for the piece I was writing, I worked on this shawl. It’s so close to being done!!

The pattern is called the Kaleidoscope Shawl by Red Heart and it was written for worsted weight yarn. I chose to make a lighter weight and somewhat more delicate version by using a finer weight yarn (2).
(Friday): well, I crocheted yesterday, but forgot to finish this post! Looks like today's post will cover both Day 9 and Day 10, which is appropriate, since I'll be continuing to work on the shawl pictured above.
At this point, I am trying to decide whether I want this to be smaller, and more of an oversized scarf, or to continue on to make the full-sized shawl. I am leaning toward the former (smaller) as I think the lighter weight yarn lends itself well to a smaller item AND for me, personally: I will get more use out of a smaller one that can be added to an outfit as some extra color or interest.
Regardless, I will enjoy the beauty and comfort of this yarn that I purchased on Bourbon Street in New Orleans last April (I was on business travel and always try to find and visit the local yarn shops). The store is The Quarter Stitch and it's a definite destination for all who love yarn and are planning to be in the area.
TGIF, and keep on stitchin' !!!
