Making progress

Writer's picture: Rebecca (a yarn enthusiast)Rebecca (a yarn enthusiast)

While not as much progress as I had hoped considering all the education sessions I sat through, I am pleased with how this reusable shopping bag (small) is turning out.

This photo is a little dark but shows the distribution of the colored bands. The second pic (below this one) had better lighting, which resulted in a more precise representation of the colors.

The pattern calls for making 2 sides, stitching together and then crocheting the handles. It doesn't look like this will make it in time for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend, so onward to the 4th of July!

This is a terrific pattern for those times when we are engaged in OTHER activities, but want to keep our hands busy. Examples include attending an education session at a conference, bingeing our favorite Netflix series, attending a family gathering when folks are sitting around chatting, and of course in crochet and knitting groups!

As a reminder, this pattern is FREE on Yarnspirations and simple enough for the newest of crocheters.

As counties, cities and states continue to implement bans on the plastic bags we have all come to rely on when shopping, it's a GREAT TIME to make a collection of our own, unique reusable bags and totes.

It's good for us to take time with yarn and hook (or needles!) and it's good for Mother Earth for us to decrease our reliance on and use of plastic.

There are only 8 more days to Knit and/or Crochet Every Day in May, so let's be sure to keep on stitchin' !!
