My week begins with a professional conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I drove out Sunday afternoon and as is my habit (in May and beyond) I brought yarn and a couple WIPs.
My “Bourbon Street Shawl” is very close to being finished so I brought it along, but since I’ll be in a historic location, I also brought along the mesh bag that I’m making in red, white and blue.
Since the pattern shows the finished bag in a solid single color, I’m still thinking about how I want the 3 colors to be presented. Right now I’m leaning toward the red and blue sections being twice as tall as the white sections, but it would look nice in just about any arrangement.
I have educational sessions to sit through tomorrow and got a new “yarn bag” - cleverly disguised as a branded industry bag with conference swag and information - when I checked into the conference. It’s perfect for tucking a small (knit or crochet) project into so I can work along as various speakers share their expertise and knowledge.
I was thinking about how I’ll use this bag once it’s finished and as I exited the local drugstore on my way out of town today, I realized that those kinds of stops are PERFECT for a bag of this size. If this comes together as nicely as I’m assuming it will, I’ll be making a few of these to tuck into my car for quick shopping stops.
We have 2 more weeks in “Knit or Crochet every day in May”, and I’m excited to see what I will have finished when June arrives.
I hope you’re enjoying your yarn journey this month. Keep on stitching’ !!
