In the spirit of my recommendations around “Fiber First Aid”, I decided to try something new. As I have mentioned previously, I prefer to knit and crochet with worsted or DK weight. Contrary to that impulse, when I saw Joann’s house brand “Big Twist” had come out with a t-shirt yarn in some bright colors, I decided to give it a try.
Since more and more municipalities are doing away with plastic bags, I’ve been sewing and crocheting bags to add to my reusable stash. I figured that another reusable bag would be a good project for testing out this yarn.
I’m using a Clover M/N (9.0mm) hook and am pretty happy with my progress so far. The only “struggle” I am having is that tinge of guilt at the other WIP’s that are sitting here and waiting to be finished - some of which are SO CLOSE to being completed that it baffles me. BUT, at the end of the day, if that’s the biggest struggle I have, I’m pretty darn lucky.
May is quickly fading and June is waiting to bring Summer to us once again. Judging from how this project is going so far, I’ll be making more with t-shirt yarn this year.
Enjoy the last few days of “Knit or Crochet Every Day in May” & keep on stitchin’!!
