Winding down

Writer's picture: Rebecca (a yarn enthusiast)Rebecca (a yarn enthusiast)

I’ve added the 3rd color and am now working on the straps. This turned into a pretty heavy bag, so the straps will need to be strong. I’m thinking about making the straps half-white and half-green, in opposite orientations so that when held together, the white ends are adjacent to the green ends.

I want to pause here and commend the ergonomic benefits of the Clover size M/N (9.0 mm) hook. This is hard work. It doesn’t flow with ease like worsted or DK, or even some bulkier yarns. It actually takes a significant amount of exertion to make each stitch, so the fact that I’ve had no pain, no stiffness, no cramping - is commendable.

Thanks Clover!

Once I finish this larger tote, I’d like to make a smaller

bag in this t-shirt yarn (unrepentant bag lady) so I’m glad it hasn’t been an exercise in suffering!

Three (3) days remain in our Knit and/or Crochet Every Day in May journey (it’s just after midnight on the 28th). I’ve enjoyed it and am especially tickled that I ventured into something new (to me) with this t-shirt yarn project.

Until next time,… keep on stitchin’ !!
